Merano and its surroundings
On the empress Sissi’s trail…
The Thermal City of Merano
Merano is less than 4 km away from Cermes. Merano and the “Burggrafenamt” are noted for the mild climate and Mediterranean vegetation. A magnificent range of mountains, with majestic mountain pikes, surrounds The Thermal City. Thanks to the mild climate, we enjoy about 300 sunny days throughout the year. The Mediterranean vegetation, with cypresses and palm trees, is mainly caused by our sheltered, sub montane position.
Lana nearby Merano
Lana is, after Merano, the biggest commune of the “Burggrafenamt”
The great amount of churches, chapels and monasteries are of historical importance and are scattered all over the area. Another must-see is the ruin “Leonburg”, followed by the ruins “Braunsberg” and “Brandis”.
Whether you prefer a shopping day in the lively pedestrian area of Gries, an excursion to our very own mountain, called Vigiljoch, a relaxing walk on the “Brandiswaal”, or a trip to the mystic “Gaulschlucht” – Lana offers a wide range of leisure activities.
Golf lovers can spend an active day on our golf courses.
Lana is easily accessible by foot, bike or service bus (route: Merano – Lana).
